PROJECT TYPES: Brand Identity, Label & Packaging Design, Marketing Collateral

DESCRIPTION: This high end boutique candle and apothecary co. has recently expanded into its own brick and mortar in Oakland’s Montclair shopping district. Playing with shapes and letter forms, each city has a unique design that illustrates the feeling of the city. I designed the company’s Logotype plus brand identity along with nearly all of the labels (everything pictured here). Go to @OlFactorieCandles on Instagram to see more. I have done successful collaborations with Ol Factorìe and organizations such as the XQ Institute who with among others includes CCO/Board Member Mark Echo and Board Member Yo-Yo Ma, and reached the households of donors like Michelle Obama and MC Hammer.

PROJECT TYPES: Graphic Design and Illustration for Apparel

DESCRIPTION: I was called in as freelance to help with some graphics filling out a couple lines of boys clothing at Tea Collection. The two different story themes for the lines I was working on were "Morocco" and "Fish." These are a few of the graphics I designed that got developed and finalized then produced into garments using a variety of graphic applicaiton techniques including reverse applique, screen print, and embroidery.

Sonoma Epicurean

PROJECT TYPES: Branding, Email & Printed Marketing Materials, Web Design

DESCRIPTION: The V Foundation is an amazing nonprofit started by legendary basketball coach Jim Valvano with the sole purpose of one day beating cancer. It has raised over $358 Million towards cancer research since its formation in 1993. Sonoma Epicurean is a new signature series of events by the V Foundation that feature curated, hands-on experiences with award-winning chefs, local artisans and world-class vintners, along with an auction and educational seminars. I was fortunate enough to have the privilege of designing the logo, along with the brand guidelines book. This graphic identity had to have some overlap with the V Foundations Brand Guidelines, yet stand completely apart. I wanted to create a logotype/ logomark lockup that was classy, elegant, vibrant and versatile, while remaining focused on the farm to table, holistic values that Sonoma Epicurean promotes.

The logo and brand guidelines I designed are still in use and have been given wings by their in-house design team. Also in its pilot year I designed and saw through production/ deployment multiple marketing items. This includes the direct mail save the date post card and Advertisement shown here, a digital and printed invite booklet shown on it's own separate project page in this portfolio (Here), a fillable PDF email sign up form, and more. I also art directed the version 1.0 of their website in collaboration with my web developer (Here). I'm very proud to feel like my design might in some small way make an impact in this very important field of cancer research, and to see the graphic systems I designed being utilized to this day.
